Kristin Hodgson, Ph.D
PhD
Licensed Psychologist, HSP-P
Dr. Kristin Hodgson is a licensed psychologist with 20 years of experience serving children with neurodevelopmental differences and their families. Her clinical work includes extensive training and practice within the UNC TEACCH Autism Program, where she developed expertise in comprehensive assessment and evidence-based support for autistic children and children with other neurodevelopmental differences. She is committed to providing neurodivergent-affirming, family-centered care that recognizes each child's unique strengths, needs, and experiences.
Kristin specializes in comprehensive psychological and diagnostic evaluations for children from toddlerhood through the school-age years. She evaluates for autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, and developmental differences. She has a niche in twice-exceptionality (2e), with a passion for identifying and supporting children whose strengths and challenges might otherwise be overlooked. Her evaluations are designed to answer meaningful questions, not simply assign diagnoses, and include practical recommendations that families, educators, and healthcare providers can use to support children across home, school, and community settings.
In addition to assessment, Kristin provides child therapy and parent coaching when appropriate, helping families better understand and support their children using compassionate, evidence-based strategies. She values close collaboration with pediatricians, therapists, educators, and other professionals to provide coordinated care.
